At the People’s Festival on Bornholm in Denmark, citizens and decision-makers, along with hundreds of organisations, gather for democratic debates. Nordic co-operation will be present with its own tent (B12) and 17 events.
From 13 to 15 June 2024, the Nordic Council of Ministers, in co-operation with partners, will host 17 events at Denmark’s largest democracy festival, the People’s Festival. Most of the events will take place in the Nordic Tent: Area B, space B12. Join us there!
This year, the focus in the Nordic Tent will be on resilient and safe societies, freedom of movement in the Nordic Region, and circular and green societies. These themes will be the red threads of Nordic co-operation at all the Nordic and Baltic democracy festivals that we’ll participate in this year.

With a total population of 27 million, the Nordic Region is ranked as the fifth largest economy in Europe. There’s no doubt that the environmental impact ofsuch a large economy is significant. But how do Danish and Nordic consumers feel about the green transition? Are they concerned about the environment and do consumers have the right tools to make greener choices? In this debate, we invite experts in consumer communication and the Nordic Swan ecolabel to reflect on how we involve consumers – both in principle and in practice – to achieve the goal of a more sustainable Nordic Region.
Stop by the event in the Nordic Tent on 13 June at 13:00.
