Are you ready for Almedalen?

Almedalen Week in Visby, Sweden, is a democratic gathering to discuss societal issues in which everyone get involved. The Nordic Council of Ministers will be present at the Nordic Tent, Strandvägen 4, on 25 June.

The green transition and happiness, resilience, the lack of children, sustainable consumption, and AI are some topics to be addressed in the Nordic Tent during Almedalen Week.

The Nordic Council of Ministers, together with its partners, is organising ten events on 25 June in the Nordic Tent at Strandvägen 4. There will also be an opportunity to make a virtual visit to the seed vault in Svalbard, Norway.

The green transition – the way to a happier life?

So far, the green transition has mostly been about technology. However, technology alone won’t slow down climate change. The green transition involves changing entire societies, our way of thinking, and our lives. But how will this happen, and could we even become happier thanks to the green transition? What kinds of positive changes can climate neutrality bring to citizens? And why is this worth striving for?

Among the panellists are Archbishop Martin Modéus and Olympic gold medallist Björn Ferry.

There will be seminars all day on a wide range of topics, including the green transition and happiness, record low birth rates in the Nordic Region, education in the Nordics, energy co-operation on hydrogen, and ethics. 

NordGen is also giving the audience the opportunity to take a virtual tour of the world-famous seed vault in Svalbard, Norway.
