14.00-17.00 Kicking off a marine COP
Changes to the ocean and cryosphere are already happening, with significant impacts for LDCs and SIDS and the latest IPCC report provides scientific support for ambitious mitigation and adaptation to reduce these impacts. The oceans also have the capacity to absorb great
amounts of CO2 and marine climate techniques are also on the horizon with experiments deployed by the Nordics among others. With an awareness raising and capacity building youth event we aim to kick off the discussion on oceans and Carbon Dioxide Removal at COP25 and will engage participants in an interactive role-play game using a cutting-edge climate simulator model, called En-ROADS to discover climate solutions of large scale.
