The Nordic Region – Leading in Green Growth

In November 2011, the Nordic Prime Ministers commissioned the Nordic Council of Ministers to launch a cross-sectoral initiative for green growth on the basis of eight recommendations in selected areas. The commission was based on the report, The Nordic Region – Leading in Green Growth, prepared by a Nordic working group.The initiative was based on the notion that the Nordic countries, by working together, can far better utilise their position to help increase energy efficiency, develop sustainable energy, innovation and research initiatives, and raise the targets in the environmental and climate area.The Councils of Ministers have implemented the eight recommendations of the working group through project activities that run until 2016.
