Media and culture play a crucial role in strengthening democracy, as they largely shape public attitudes and perceptions of democracy, promote critical thinking, civic engagement and help uphold the principles of openness and accountability. 

The discussion aims to reveal how media and culture can strengthen and promote, as well as marginalise and suppress, democratic resilience in societies in conflict.  

The panel discussion is part of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Women at War project, which provides a platform for women's personal stories about the impact of war and how it has affected Nordic and Baltic societies.
