This is how the nominations are chosen:

The people in the Nordic countries have submitted their candidates for this year's prize. This year there were 24 proposals.

The decision on who is nominated is taken by a Nordic Adjudication Committee made up of 13 people, two from each Nordic country and one from the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland respectively.
