Join us at Arendal Week

Arendal Week is a festival and venue for politicians, organisations, businesses, and the public to come together to discuss societal issues. Around 1,900 events and 200 stands fill the centre of Arendal for five days each year in August.

From 12 to 16 August, Nordic co-operation will be present at Arendal Week 2024. A total of 21 events will be held with various partners. Come and see us in the Nordic Tent!

Is the Nordic Region prepared for more crises? Resilience, life after the green transition (and how we get there) are the main themes in the Nordic Tent in Arendal this year. The diversity of Nordic co-operation will also be highlighted: Ethical artificial intelligence, sustainable consumption, mineral extraction, international co-operation in the Arctic, and much more are on the agenda.

Are we prepared? Resilience in Norway and the Nordic Region

The world is in the midst of a climate crisis and deep-rooted geopolitical tensions. In the Nordic Region, we’re also experiencing extreme weather, war in neighbouring areas, and increasing inequalities. Sweden has informed its citizens what to do in the event of war. Is war the greatest threat we face, or is it the climate, external influences, or a new health crisis?

The green transition – will we have a better life?

Will we have a better life after the green transition? How do we get there? In this conversation in Arendal, we aim to establish a dialogue about what a good life is and can be after the green transition. This is a dialogue between different generations – between those who will be in governing roles in 2050 and those who making decisions that affect our common future now.
